The holiday season presents an ideal occasion to reflect on our commitment to supporting others. At Data Innovations (DI), our mission is to drive customer success by empowering clinical laboratories to work smarter, achieve more, and improve patient care – particularly in the face of ongoing staffing challenges.

We work to accomplish this goal throughout the year by keeping you – our customer – front and center, striving to anticipate your needs as marketplace dynamics and laboratory technologies change.

Collaborating with Epic

One way we do this is by meeting monthly with Epic to collaborate on upcoming Beaker LIS changes. This collaboration guarantees that any new Beaker LIS improvements are incorporated into our ongoing updates of Instrument Manager–Beaker LIS drivers, allowing customers to benefit from the newest Beaker LIS features.

Driver connectivity is a core part of the service we provide our customers. In addition to working with LIS manufacturers, we also develop new drivers and driver enhancements at no additional cost. Recently, we released several improvements to our Instrument Manager-Epic Beaker LIS driver, some of which were based on customer feedback. One such improvement allows users to modify the LIS configuration within the driver without stopping the connection, thereby minimizing downtime to make changes.

A Call to Upgrade: Ensuring Security and Support

As your partner in lab operations, we place your lab’s security and efficiency at the forefront. We continuously update our software with the latest cybersecurity protocols and productivity enhancements to keep your lab protected and performing at its best.

With Instrument Manager v8.16.20 and earlier versions reaching End of Life on January 1, 2026, we strongly encourage all customers running these older versions to upgrade. After this date, everyday support for these legacy versions will end, so upgrading ensures you’ll continue to receive the technical support and security your lab needs. Education and Updates through DI User Groups

As we approach the final quarter of 2025, now is the perfect time to plan for the year ahead. Consider: Is your lab operating as efficiently and productively as possible? Could custom autoverification workflows streamline your processes? Are you planning to add any new instruments? Could your lab leverage more of the capabilities of Instrument Manager?

Attendees of our Virtual User Group last month heard about these updates, along with other Epic-to-Instrument Manager driver enhancements. If you missed the recent two-day Virtual User Group, you can still attend any of the sessions through the on-demand recordings of Day 1 and Day 2.

A New Service to Drive Lab ‘CPR’

With the deep clinical laboratory knowledge and expertise of our team members, we are confident in our ability to help labs optimize their performance. A new offering we are excited to announce is our CPR360 Lab Assessment—a complimentary service for enterprise laboratories—that evaluates gaps and opportunities for improvement across Connectivity, Productivity, and Risk Management.
