As another year quickly comes to a close, the holiday season offers the perfect opportunity to pause and reflect on we have to be grateful for, what we have accomplished in the past year, and what we have to look forward to in the year ahead.  

When it comes to the laboratory industry, there are indeed some developments worth celebrating. According to the American Society for Clinical Pathology’s 2023 wage survey report, wages increased for a number of different laboratory positions compared to 2021, and burnout rates decreased. 

Of course, challenges remain. Many labs still struggle to complete their daily workloads with limited staffing resources. But through innovative solutions, labs can accomplish more with less.  

As your partner in clinical lab excellence, DI continues to develop new ways to help your lab accomplish more while delivering quality patient care. Many of you may only know DI for the vendor-neutral connectivity we bring to your lab. But through our mission to improve patient care starting in the lab, we have grown to innovate an entire suite of solutions supporting productivity, quality, compliance, uptime performance, and lab analytics. We call it “limitless lab enablement.”  

From our beginnings 35 years ago, we developed our software solutions by listening to our customers and understanding your challenges. Some of our newest technical services offer staffing support to ensure your laboratory performs at its best while relieving the workloadFor example, we now offer end-to-end autoverification validation testing and documentation for your lab’s IM system. And our AV Workflow Analysis service ensures that best practices are enabled in your IM environment to optimize productivity and patient safety.  

Meanwhile, we are also finding ways to make working with us easier. For instance, our new Pre-Purchased Services Package allows labs to purchase a predefined number of service hours to be performed over a period of time that you choose. This is ideal for labs that have small projects throughout the year or for labs that struggle with high turnover. In either case, purchasing a package of service hours upfront enables labs to avoid delays from long budgetary approval cycles.
